We are currently seeking a club manager for the 2026-27 curling season! This paid position plays a key role in the Eau Claire Curling Club's operations. Position Summary
The Club Manager serves as the primary operational leader of the Eau Claire Curling Club, responsible for day-to-day management, membership services, event coordination, and external engagement. The Manager works under the direction of the Board of Directors and in close collaboration with the Board President, committee chairs, league conveners, and other paid and volunteer staff to foster a welcoming environment, grow membership, and ensure the club’s long-term sustainability.
Time Commitment
- Part-time, year-round position with seasonal variation
- Limited hours: April through August (administrative, planning, registration setup)
- Heavier hours: September through March (active curling season, events, league operations)
- Primarily offsite/online work, with on-site presence required for key events, league openers, bonspiels, and as needed for club maintenance
- Attend monthly Board meetings and committee meetings as requested
Key Responsibilities
Club Operations and Administration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for club operations and member inquiries
- Manage building logistics: licenses and permits (including liquor license renewal coordination), TV/internet service, waste management, snow removal, and supply of general cleaning supplies
- Coordinate electronic key access for members and manage locker rentals
- Ensure exterior doors and emergency exits remain clear and accessible
- Collect and process mail at the club’s PO Box
- File annual corporation information with the State of Wisconsin
- In coordination with the Club President, league conveners, event coordinators, and the Head Ice Technician, manage the club calendar
- Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop annual goals
Event Coordination and Revenue Generation
- Identify, solicit, and coordinate a minimum of five (5) private or corporate rental events per season
- Coordinate at least two (2) Learn-to-Curl public events per season
- Ensure all events are appropriately staffed with volunteers and/or paid personnel
- Create and manage online volunteer registration forms as needed
- Provide on-site or coordinated facility support for bonspiels in partnership with event chairs
- Set pricing for private/corporate events at the Manager’s discretion, based on event size, scope, group type, and demand on facility/volunteers (e.g., reduced rates for non-profits, schools, and community organizations)
Financial Coordination
- Review incoming invoices and recommend payment to the Treasurer
- Submit annual budget recommendations to the Finance Committee
- Work with the Treasurer on financial reporting, accounting, and audit preparation
Marketing and Outreach Support
- Represent the club at community events or partner meetings when requested by the Board
- Coordinate any media inquiries as necessary
Coordination with Other Paid Staff
- Recommend to the Board of Directors a Bar & Kitchen Manager
- Maintain direct supervision of Bar & Kitchen Manager, ensuring they perform their duties as assigned
- Serve as the day-to-day operational liaison for members
- Coordinate with the Webmaster on website content, registration, board membership roles and permissions, and club email address management
- Work with the Board to delegate duties to committees and volunteers as appropriate
