Team Hebert of Eau Claire Curling Club is set to take on the toughest competition of their careers. The quartet comprised of Jackson Bestland, Caden Hebert, Benji Paral and Jack Wendtland will compete at the U.S. Olympic Curling trials in Sioux Falls, South Dakota November 11-16.

The group of friends started competing in curling at a young age and have put together prolific junior national and international careers. They clinched a spot in the four team Olympic Trials field in September by winning the United States Olympic Curling Team Pre-Trials bonspiel in Charlotte.

After twice bringing home silver at the U21 Junior Curling Nationals, Team Hebert struck gold on Sunday as they dominated their way to the championship win.

The 2025 FISU World University Games wrapped up this week, and Team Hebert, representing the United States, capped off a great week against a strong international field with a silver medal finish.

The team (Caden Hebert, Jackson Bestland, Jack Wendtland, Jack Armstrong, Connor Kaufmann, Coach Mike Peplinski) finished round-robin play in second place with a 7-1 record. After beating Canada in the semi-finals, they faced undefeated Team Norway in the championship matchup.
